GOVERNANCE-09: Farmer-led technical centers for Water Knowledge Hub

Director - Europe Department at Acta - Les Instituts techniques agricoles

Paris, France

About

ACTA, the French network of Agricultural Technical Institutes, is the national head of 19 specialized institutes covering all agricultural sectors (crop production, livestock, horticulture, viticulture, etc.). As a key player in agricultural research & development, innovation, and knowledge transfer, ACTA bridges the gap between scientific advancements and on-farm practices, ensuring that farmers benefit from cutting-edge solutions tailored to their needs. Climate change stands as one of ACTA’s five strategic challenges, driving our commitment to disseminating adaptive practices. Our mission is to equip farmers and advisors with actionable tools and knowledge to mitigate risks and enhance resilience, in the context of evolving climatic conditions.

ACTA's collaborative knowledge platform GECO (geco.ecophytopic.fr/adaptation-changement-climatique),,) serves as a hub for farmers, advisors, teachers, students and researchers, offering curated resources, case studies, and decision-support tools.

ACTA can also mobilize specialised Agricultural Technical Institutes in its network to build a European Observatory for Water Use, evaluate innovative practices in various sectors (animal, plants) and develop practical tools to support advisors and farmers, including factsheets, technical guides, video tutorials, and e-learning modules.
