ProVeg contribution to Horizon Europe RIA on agrobiodiversity, market uptake and value chain valorisation

EU Projects Coordinator at ProVeg

Prague, Czech Republic

About

ProVeg is interested in contributing to a Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action under the topic “Boosting agrobiodiversity for food security and sustainable competitiveness” (HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-BIODIV-06).

Our expertise lies at the interface between agricultural production, markets, consumers, and policy. In projects of this type, ProVeg typically contributes to:

  • Market uptake and valorisation of diverse crops and products, including analysis of demand, pricing, value chain gaps, and barriers to marketability of non-conventional crops and local varieties.

  • Value chain development, with a focus on processing, storage, logistics, and collaboration with food industry actors to strengthen farmers’ position and income.

  • Stakeholder engagement and multi-actor approaches, including work with farmers, SMEs, food businesses, and civil society to ensure practical relevance and real-world adoption.

  • Behavioural and socio-economic aspects, supporting understanding of incentives, perceived risks, and decision-making around diversification and biodiversity-friendly practices.

  • Dissemination, communication, and policy alignment, translating project results into accessible formats for practitioners and aligning outcomes with EU policies such as the Biodiversity Strategy, Organic Action Plan, and Vision for Agriculture and Food.

ProVeg has experience building on results from previous EU-funded projects and supporting the scaling of successful approaches through clear communication, stakeholder uptake, and policy engagement at EU level.

We are open to discussing collaboration with consortia where our role would complement scientific, agronomic, and ecological expertise by strengthening the socio-economic, market, and impact dimensions of the project.
