HORIZON-CL6-2026-02-FARM2FORK-07: Strengthening the EU plant protection ecosystem for a future-proof agriculture
R&D Director at Elicit Plant
Vilhonneur, France
About
Elicit Plant brings a unique and scientifically validated approach to plant protection through its patented phytosterol-based biostimulants. These solutions do not merely supplement plant nutrition; they act as adaptive signaling molecules, triggering systemic physiological responses that enhance resilience against abiotic stresses such as drought—one of the most critical threats to European agriculture under climate change.
Key Contributions to the Consortium:
-
Innovative Technology for Stress Mitigation: Elicit Plant’s phytosterol-based products reduce water consumption by approximately 20%, improving crop performance under water scarcity and heat stress.
-
Scientific Expertise: Deep knowledge in plant physiology, molecular biology, and stress-response mechanisms, supported by three PhD programs and collaborations with leading research institutes.
-
Validated Performance: Proven efficacy across multiple crops (corn, soybean, cereals, sunflower, grapevine, ...) through extensive multilocation trials in Europe and South America.
-
Regulatory and Market Readiness: 12 patent families, 19 granted patents, and regulatory approvals in 41 countries ensure scalability and rapid deployment.
-
Infrastructure for Demonstration: In-house R&D labs (chemistry, biology, agronomy) and an experimental farm in France enable controlled studies and real-condition trials (TRL 5–8).
-
Alignment with EU Objectives: Supports reduction of chemical inputs and fosters sustainable, climate-resilient farming systems, fully aligned with the Farm-to-Fork strategy.
By integrating Elicit Plant’s technology, the consortium can strengthen the EU plant protection ecosystem with a solution that combines scientific rigor, environmental sustainability, and economic impact, ensuring agriculture remains productive and resilient in the face of future challenges.
