Small Islands, Big Data: Climate Resilience Testbeds for Smallholder Farms
Communications & Development Coordinator at Malta Youth in Agriculture Foundation
Valletta, Malta
About
With its compact geography and climate-exposed agriculture, the Maltese Islands are uniquely suited to act as a controlled environment for piloting climate-resilient farming techniques. Through MaYA, we can support Horizon projects involving smallholder testbeds, AI-based monitoring, and community-based innovation.
We offer access to a nation-scale agri network, climate-challenged plots, and close proximity between stakeholders, enabling fast feedback loops and real policy testing. MaYA can facilitate co-creation events, local data collection, farmer engagement, and youth-driven sustainability initiatives that support green transitions in agriculture.
