ChildSafe Urban Green Governance Lab (Sarıyer Living Lab)

Urban green spaces and playgrounds are essential for social well-being, childhood development and climate resilience. A comprehensive field study conducted in Sarıyer revealed critical gaps in playground safety, ergonomic suitability, inclusive design, accessibility for children with disabilities, shade and heat adaptation, and environmental sustainability (lack of recycling facilities, green infrastructure, or climate-friendly solutions).

The ChildSafe Urban Green Governance Lab will address these gaps by creating a multi-actor living lab where public authorities, citizens, researchers and innovators collaborate to redesign urban parks.
