Marine biomass valorisation for photoprotective, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds for cosmetic, dermatological and biomaterial applications.
Senior Researcher at National Institute R&D for Biological Sciences
Bucharest, Romania
About
The project aims to valorise diverse marine biomass sources—such as microalgae, macroalgae, marine invertebrates and their associated microbiomes—to discover, characterise and sustainably produce novel photoprotective, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory molecules. The resulting natural compounds will be evaluated for applications in cosmetics, dermatology and next-generation biomaterials, contributing to a circular and sustainable blue bioeconomy.
