About

At the University of Parma's Department of Law, Politics, and International Studies, we are dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and research that intersects legal, political, and global studies. Our department is committed to providing a rich educational experience, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application, to prepare our students for impactful careers. We emphasize collaboration with academic institutions and organizations worldwide, promoting a vibrant network for knowledge exchange and innovation. Through our programs, we aim to contribute to the development of thoughtful leaders equipped to navigate the complex challenges of today’s global society.

Our research covers all the areas of both public and private law, at international, regional (EU), national and local level, with a strong team working also in comparative law.

The Department has been awarded the title of "Department of Excellence" by the Ministry of University and Research. The recognition is related also to the Food for Future project, which combines all the different expertise both in research and teaching activities. Thanks to the synergy that the project has generated, we can now provide a full expertise for any project of cluster 6, even if our main areas of interest are covered by the FARM2FORK topics. We have in particular deep expertise in food security and food safety, novel food, food analogues, food supplements, food for specific dietary needs, improving agents (additives, flavourings, enzymes), quality schemes, information to consumers, waste, circular economy, biodiversity, phytosanitary products (including biopesticides), deforestation, provisions on sustainability.
