About
OUR ORGANIZATION
Discovery R&D Center was founded in 2012 by market-driven researchers with a shared vision to advance agricultural innovation in the CEE region. We prioritize supporting young researchers and developing practical solutions tailored to farmers' needs. Through summer schools, training programs and workshops, we actively foster knowledge transfer in agricultural innovation.
As a key player in agricultural research, Discovery R&D Center has cultivated a multidisciplinary network encompassing leading universities, research institutions and enterprises across Central and Western Europe. Our expanding knowledge base and collaborations drive the development of the EIP-Agri community within the CEE region.
Our commitment extends beyond Europe, engaging in EU and interregional projects to support farmers in Europe and East Africa. A notable achievement includes securing a collaboration grant from the European Space Agency and the African Union Earth Observation R&D initiative to develop agricultural technologies for smallholder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to enhance the presence of Central and Eastern Europe in European research initiatives by fostering a robust network. We aim to act as a catalyst for research projects in the Visegrad region, promoting knowledge transfer, incubation and innovative technological solutions. Our startup-like agility allows us to adapt to market dynamics and emerging challenges efficiently.
OUR FACILITIES
The Discovery Living Lab, operational since 2019, serves as a nationwide research network spanning thousands of hectares. It integrates diverse stakeholders and end users, facilitating real-world experimentation in sustainable soil management and precision agriculture. Our financially independent operations ensure credibility, while our qualified experts drive stakeholder engagement. As a Certified Member of ENoLL since 2022, we uphold rigorous standards, advancing inclusive and scientifically validated agricultural practices.
CONSULTING ACTIVITIES
We provide specialized consultancy services in precision farming, GIS solutions and data-driven decision-making. Our expertise ensures the efficient and sustainable implementation of precision agriculture, from data collection and analysis to tailored application maps. We also offer GIS-based decision support and data visualization tools, enabling optimized farm management and intervention planning. Our technical advisory services cover the adaptation of agricultural machinery for site-specific applications, software integration and workflow optimization. Additionally, we offer tailored soil protection planning and precision soil sampling and analysis to enhance land use efficiency and productivity.
OUR PROJECTS
Discovery R&D Center has successfully led over 10 EIP-Agri operational group projects, along with a HUMUS sub-project and participation in three Horizon projects and an Interreg project focused on agroecology, soil health and digital innovation in agriculture.
