Shachar Group is an Israeli sustainability group that transforms food waste into valuable resources through advanced, scalable technologies. Since 2005, the group has led innovative solutions across the waste valorization chain — from processing food industry byproducts to developing alternative proteins and environmental systems.
The group offers three core solutions:
Waste-to-Feed
Separation and repurposing of industrial and commercial food waste into sustainable animal feed, supporting food security and circular economy practices., Insect Bioconversion Technologies
Using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to convert organic waste into high-value protein, fat, and organic fertilizer — promoting climate resilience and resource recovery., Sustainable Waste Technologies
Advanced mechanical systems such as EPS compression, liquid extraction, and waste compaction to reduce volume, cut disposal costs, and improve recycling efficiency.Together, these solutions reflect Shachar Group’s mission: Nothing is wasted.
The company is also active in R&D, pilot projects, and international collaborations to expand the impact of circular economy innovation.
I lead all R&D activities related to Black Soldier Fly (BSF) in our preindustrial site. We develop unique rearing technologies of BSF based on unstable waste streams. I Led the establishment of BSF Israel consortium among others, and the “Waste to Feed” work package in the first two years. I hold a PhD in Biology with extensive experience in Entomology, Molecular biology, Microbiology, and statistical analysis.
A potential partner will specialize in either of the following areas:
1. Complex data analysis, Machine learning and Ai.
2. Sensors and Controllers for controlled agricultural systems
