The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) is one of Ukraine’s leading educational and research institutions, specializing in agriculture, environmental and life sciences. NUBiP has IV accreditation level and conducts educational, scientific and research activities related to environmental issues and agriculture. NUBiP actively engages in international activities through partnerships with universities, research institutions, and organizations worldwide. Among partner universities of NUBiP there are: University of Hohenheim (Germany), Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Czech University of Life Sciences (Czech Republic), Iowa State University (USA), Ghent University (Belgium), International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria), University of Guelph (Canada). About me

I am Oleksandr Soshenskyi, was born in 1990 in Ukraine. I graduated from the College of Forestry in 2009 and the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBiP) in 2012 on the specialization “Forestry”. After graduation, I first worked as a forester, and from 2013 to 2015 as a forestry engineer in a forest inventory organization. At the same time, in 2013, I entered the PhD study program at NUBiP and completed my PhD in 2016. Since 2015, I have been working at NUBiP, first as an assistant at the Forest Mensuration and Forest Management Department, and now as an associate professor at the Forestry Department. Since 2019 I had held the position of Deputy Director of the Institute of Forestry and Park Gardening for International Work, and since 2024 I have been working as Head of the International Projects Department of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.

My administrative activities focus on managing international projects, working with international partners, assisting in finding partners, and coordinating cooperation during the application preparation. My scientific activities are related to wildfire management research in Ukraine, advancing close-to-nature forest management, and promoting international cooperation in forestry research and education. In this context, I actively collaborate with international organizations and participate in various seminars and training sessions worldwide, pursuing two goals: developing national science in Ukraine through cooperation with the international scientific community and advancing my research direction related to forests to address challenges such as climate change, biodiversity, wildfires, and forest disturbances.

I have extensive experience in international activities, including participation in international projects, exchange programs, internships, and numerous conferences, forums, and seminars. He has collaborated with organizations such as the OSCE, FAO, IUFRO, the US Forest Service, and international research foundations such as HORIZON, ERASMUS, USAID, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Council of Europe, and others.

I have experience in conducting research projects, both domestic Ukrainian and international Fluent in English and have excellent communication skills.
