Dr Viktorija Vaštakaitė-Kairienė is an associate professor in Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Biology and Food Sciences, and a senior researcher and deputy director at Bioeconomy Research Institute at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) Agriculture Academy. Obtained BS in Biology (2011), MS in Applied Biochemistry (2013) at VMU and PhD in Agronomy at Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (2018). She had a long-term internship at Michigan State University in the USA (2019-2020) and short-term internships at the University of Agriculture in Krakow in Poland (2016, 2021), Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (2021), University of Padova in Italy (2022). She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Nature Research Centre in Lithuania (2020-2022). Participates(-ed) in 19 projects funded by the Research Council of Lithuania with(-out) ES funds, Lithuanian Business Support Agency, REMBIOFOR Poland, and studies ordered by companies. (Co-)author of publications in CA WoS (30 with IF), chapters published by Springer (2017) and Elsevier (2019 and 2021), research studio (2015, Lithuanian). She participated in more than 60 conferences worldwide. She is awarded by the World Federation of Scientists and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
