About
We are actively seeking to join a consortium applying to HORIZON-CL6-2025-01-BIODIV-10, contributing a robust strategy for implementing and scaling nature restoration measures within sustainable farming systems.
As a system design and sustainable finance partner, 17S – Sustainability & Consulting Services brings deep expertise in designing, funding, and operationalizing restoration efforts across agri-ecological landscapes. Our core value lies in converting ecological goals into deployable mechanisms backed by governance alignment, blended capital, and measurable outcomes.
🧭 What We Bring
-
Design of Payment for Biodiversity Services (PBS) and outcome-based schemes for nature restoration within agricultural contexts, including layered incentives, MRV, and crediting models.
 -
Structuring financial mechanisms for restoration activities such as regenerative agriculture, agroecological corridors, and biodiversity-enhancing practices.
 -
Integration of multi-level funding pathways — CAP, private investors, regional programs — into deployable implementation packages for farms and territories.
 -
Strategic modeling of scalability and replicability, drawing from our role in the BIO-Capital Horizon project and partnerships with cooperatives, regions, and digital MRV providers.

🔬 Focused Areas of Contribution
We are particularly suited to contribute to the following:
-
Work Package on Financial & Governance Mechanisms:
-
Design of PBS/PES tools tailored to biodiversity restoration at farm and landscape levels.
 -
Public-private co-financing blueprints and impact fund linkages.

 -
 -
Implementation Model Design:
-
Developing viable farmer-facing business cases that align biodiversity outcomes with productivity logic.
 -
Translating EU-level restoration goals into operational incentives at local/regional level.

 -
 -
Policy Uptake and Systemic Mainstreaming:
-
Scenario testing and decision support for institutional alignment (CAP, LULUCF, RRF, regional planning).
 -
Blueprint development for upscaling from pilots to programmatic instruments.

 -
 -
MRV Integration and Outcome Validation:
-
Support integration of MRV-ready data systems and biodiversity metrics into payment logic.
 -
Linking ecological performance to disbursement and stakeholder reporting frameworks.

 -

🧑🤝🧑 What We Are Looking For
We would like to join a multi-actor consortium that includes:
-
Regional authorities or CAP delivery bodies implementing restoration plans.
 -
Farming cooperatives or networks practicing agroecological transitions.
 -
Restoration ecologists, agronomists, and biodiversity data specialists.
 -
Digital MRV solution developers.
 -
Researchers and evaluators in ecosystem service assessment and governance design.

We are flexible to contribute as a Work Package partner or task lead — particularly where design, business models, and financial translation are required. We are also open to building direct links between proposed interventions and scalable funding pathways across Europe’s priority landscapes.
