Digital Hive: Bridging Bees, Science, and Society

About
Bees and other pollinators are vital to biodiversity and food security, yet public awareness of their role remains limited. While many platforms share research and project outcomes, there's a clear need for a simple, inclusive space that connects beekeepers and engages the public in pollinator conservation.
Digital Hive aims to create an accessible, multilingual online platform for beekeepers across Europe to share knowledge, experiences, and practical solutions. Beyond the beekeeper community, Digital Hive will offer engaging, easy-to-understand content for educators, students, and citizens - bridging the gap between scientific research and public understanding.
Digital Hive’s key audiences include beekeepers, schools, policy makers, and environmentally curious citizens. Researchers are encouraged to participate, with a focus on translating their findings into accessible formats. By fostering cross-border collaboration and community-led education, Digital Hive will demystify beekeeping and promote a shared responsibility for pollinator protection - contributing to healthier ecosystems and more informed societies. Through blog posts, citizen science initiatives, interactive tools, and downloadable resources, the platform will promote pollinator literacy and inspire proactive action, such as building bee hotels or planting pollinator-friendly gardens.
We welcome partnerships with beekeeper associations, educational institutions, researchers, and environmental NGOs to bring this vision to life.
