Improving ecodesign of products and development of testing methods for products prioritised under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation

Łukasiewicz-ŁIT is a research institute, part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network. The institutes collaborate with different target groups such as regional and national authorities, universities, research institutes, industry organizations, and companies operating in textile, clothing, leather, and footwear (TCLF), packaging, food sectors. The institutes participated in the development of technical analyses and forecasts for regional and national public authorities. It brings an extensive knowledge of the TCLF sectors, awareness of threats, problems and opportunities related to this field.

Within Łukasiewicz-ŁIT structure there are 11 accredited Testing Laboratories which form a set of complementary analytical laboratories with a very wide spectrum of research methods used, giving the possibility of a full assessment of physical, mechanical, chemical, microbiological and special properties of raw materials, textiles, leather and footwear. The tests are carried out in accordance with the ISO, EN, PN standards thereby facilitating our involvement in the development, testing, and validation of product-specific testing methods for the determination and verification of product performance in relation to the said specific parameters.

The R&D Centre of Circular Economy with LCA section can provide its expertise in sustainability and circular economy issues, environmental assessment, product and processes assessments, in accordance with international standards (+LCA software - SimaPro).
