Water resources in Europe, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Western Balkans are under increasing pressure from climate change, land degradation, and unsustainable management practices. One of the most critical challenges is the growing frequency and severity of extreme droughts, which threaten ecosystems, agriculture, livelihoods, and water security, particularly in vulnerable regions.

Objectives:

•Implement pilot projects showcasing wetland restoration, reforestation, agroecology, and riparian buffer establishment in drought-prone catchments

•Monitor outcomes and develop guidelines, policy briefs, and decision-support tools to facilitate replication and scaling up in other regions.

•Consortium stage: early concept note, looking for partners
