1. System and implementation (practical level):-
Develop guidelines for the introduction of agroforestry at farm level (technical solutions, planting schemes, integration with livestock).
- Implement agroforestry systems on selected farms
- Develop adapted agroforestry models for different soil, climate and farm types.
- Develop recommendations for tree and crop combinations according to ecological zones.
2. Environmental and climate benefits:
- Assess the carbon storage potential of tree biomass and soils.
- Monitor changes in biodiversity in agroforestry plots.
- Analyse the impact of agroforestry on soil quality and water management.
3. Economic-social impacts:
- Study the economic efficiency of agroforestry (productivity, profitability, cost structure).
- To assess farmers' attitudes towards agroforestry, their knowledge and willingness to adopt the system.
- Develop the involvement of local communities and social benefits through agroforestry activities.
4. Innovation and technology:
- Apply digital tools for agroforestry planning (e.g. GIS, modelling applications).
- Analyse the effectiveness of new species and varieties suitable for integration into systems.
