Human-Centered ICT: Co-Create Digital Solutions That Truly Resonate

About

The Laboratory of Interactive Technologies at the National Information Processing Institute in Poland provides insights into users and the social context behind innovations in the ICT field. We integrate the human perspective from the very beginning of a project and design the user experience at every stage of development. We help teams view users as an integral part of the process—and to see the project from the users' perspective. This approach ensures that the final product becomes a meaningful part of users’ lives.

We conduct daily UX audits for all systems developed at NIPI—designing with users in mind, testing, and refining solutions. Our work lies at the intersection of psychology, computer science, and design.
We can apply our experience to create or improve solutions and products across virtually any domain.

One of our main areas of focus is virtual reality (VR), which is becoming increasingly intuitive and widespread. We study how people respond to VR environments—both emotionally and cognitively. Among other things, we analyze users’ body and head movements to detect emotional states.

We also use eye-trackers in our research, test the effectiveness of 3D educational content, and develop emotionally engaging tools.

Our team is an interdisciplinary mix of psychologists, sociologists, cultural studies experts, computer scientists, programmers, and data analysts. We believe that only through such diversity can truly innovative, responsible, and effective solutions emerge.
