About

Biombillas® is a Chilean company pioneering the industrial production of 100% natural drinking straws made from rye stems, cultivated specifically for this purpose. We have developed and implemented proprietary machinery that automates the selection, cutting, stripping, and sanitization stages, enabling scalable manufacturing with high efficiency, consistency, and minimal environmental impact.

Our technological innovation allows us to produce straws that are chemical-free, plastic-free, and gluten-free, while maintaining structural integrity in both hot and cold beverages. The entire process complies with food safety standards under HACCP certification and is carried out in a rural-based facility with a strong focus on employing women from the local community.

Commercially, we provide a functional, aesthetic, and sustainable alternative to single-use plastic straws, serving hotels, restaurants, and large-scale events across Chile and Latin America. Our technology is the first of its kind in the region and has been designed for international replication and scalability.
