Paderborn University is one of the mid-sized universities in Germany with a strong focus on research and transfer. Our five faculties - Arts and Humanities, Business Administration and Economics, Mechanical Engineering, Natural Sciences, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics - offer 70 study programmes. In addition, there are about 166 subject combinations in the field of teacher training. Within our key research areas, Paderborn University has made a name for itself with internationally recognised excellence in research. As part of Paderborn University, we are the Workgroup – Advanced Systems Engineering. Advanced Systems Engineering stands for the future-oriented development of intelligent technical systems. In an age in which digitalization is a key driver of change, fascinating potential applications are opening up, along with changes for industry and society. This is where we come in: Through the interaction of electronics, computer science, and mechanical engineering, we pursue the goal of establishing new ways of thinking and working for product development that go beyond traditional development methods. The focus is on a holistic view and close integration of the central tasks in this process.
