My organisation

With the support of the districts of Spiegelau, Freyung-Grafenau and the Free State of Bavaria, a new technology transfer centre was established in Spiegelau in 2012. As a branch of the Deggendorf Institute of Technology in cooperation with the University of Bayreuth, the Technology Application Centre bundles the competence in research and development around the topic of glass and its value-added chain. Our focus is primarily on glass industriy, recycling, innovative materials and processes. This includes, for example, the development of new types of glass products such as semi-finished micro glass products for future-oriented technologies, the optimization of production efficiency and flexibility of existing systems, e.g. by introducing and setting up management systems. These topics are realised in close cooperation with regional and supra-regional industrial partners, because it is precisely this interface between science and industry that gives the topic of glass at the TAZ Spiegelau its own dimension.
