Sustainable Packaging Innovation: Compostable & Paper-Recyclable Biomaterials
About
Dear All,
We are Hera Materials, an MIT-born, female-led startup developing next-generation biomaterials to replace fossil-based plastics. Our flagship innovation, Woodpack, is a flexible film made from cellulose fiber and local biomass. It is compostable under natural conditions, recyclable within the existing paper stream, and produced through an electrified, AI-optimized process that reduces energy consumption by up to 89% compared to traditional plastics.
We are currently exploring the formation of an international consortium under the Eureka/Eurogia2030 framework to accelerate the development, validation, and scaling of sustainable packaging solutions. Our goal is to bring together industrial partners, research institutions, and technology developers who share our commitment to the circular economy, climate action, and innovation in materials science.
We would be delighted to connect with potential collaborators, present our proposal, and explore synergies with your Cluster and partners. Together, we can build a global pathway to eliminate plastic waste and create sustainable value chains.
Best regards,
Jose Antonio
