Designing Sustainable Loops for Bio-Based Compound Recovery
About
Our project explores how to create sustainable circular loops for the recovery and valorization of bio-based compounds from agricultural side streams. The goal is to develop a processing method that extracts valuable compounds for use in product manufacturing, while ensuring that the remaining material can re-enter its existing valorization chain without disruption. To achieve this, we aim to establish a suitable extraction process, perform economic modelling of the entire value chain, explore the optimization potential offered by AI, and assess the life cycle of the resulting products (LCA). This integrated approach should help us identify the most efficient, cost-effective, and scalable solution, while demonstrating tangible environmental benefits and a measurable footprint.
