Global Digital Product Passport Consortium

Andres Alcayaga

About

As part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), the EU has introduced the Digital Product Passport (DPP). Several product categories (e.g. textiles, tyres and energy-related products) are mandated to include a DPP to enhance transparency, circularity and sustainability throughout the product lifecycle.

 Goals of the Project:

  • Expand the reach of current DPP initiatives to non-European countries (Canada, Chile, South Korea, Turkey)

  • Co-development of solutions with European research partners, SMEs and large companies

  • Align international initiatives

  • Transfer of knowledge

  • Increase of awareness about DPPs

Topic

  • Data technologies | Design of an adaptable Digital Product Pass:
  • Enabling technologies | Life cycle assessment / Product life cycle management – e.g., Digital Twin / Digital Product Passport
  • Enabling technologies | Tools and solutions addressing challenges emerging from product focused regulations (such as the ESPR)
