Investment - Ontrack: the deeptech OS for connected eyewear
Co-founder & CEO at Ontrack
Paris, France
About
What we do
Ontrack lets eyewear brands sell connected glasses without becoming a tech company. We build the hard part: the audio hardware, the firmware and the AI that run on the glasses. The brand designs the frames and sells them; our tech is what makes them smart. Think "Intel Inside", but for glasses.
Everything fits inside the temple of a normal pair of glasses, about 4 mm thick. You talk to them, they answer, and they get better over time like a phone. We also add useful features like translation, navigation and coaching.
Why now
Meta proved people want this: 1 million pairs sold in 2024, and around 20 million expected in 2026. Optical brands see it and want their own. But doing it alone takes them two years and skills they don't have, cheap factories give them a generic product, and the big tech players only talk to other big players. That is the gap we fill.
Where we are
Two eyewear brands have already signed, with first orders in 2026, and we are in talks with ten more in France and abroad. We run the audio R&D with INRIA researcher and we are getting our deeptech label from Bpifrance.
Who we are
We are two repeat founders. My co-founder and CTO has already raised €4M for a previous audio hardware company, so he has built and shipped this kind of product before. Around us we have advisors from the optics, audio and hardware industries who know the market first-hand.
How we make money
The brand pays us for every pair sold, plus yearly subscriptions on top for warranty and premium features. We only produce once a brand has ordered, so we carry no stock and no factory risk.
The round
We are raising a €1.5M seed to grow the team, push our audio R&D and sign the next brands.
What we are looking for
Business angels and early-stage investors who know deeptech and consumer hardware.
