About

We are researchers at the University of Extremadura and members of the DEPROFE research group, which is dedicated to the professional development of science and mathematics teachers. We are currently leading a national research project focused on integrating STEM education and digital competence—including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools—into teacher training programmes.

Our current focus is on exploring the potential of Generative AI (GenAI) to empower future educators in the creation and use of Open Educational Resources (OER), thereby fostering innovation in teaching practice. Our aims include:

·      Developing methodologies for integrating GenAI tools into teacher training.

·      Co-designing training modules that enhance digital competence among both pre-service and in-service teachers.

·      Promoting the creation and use of OER to support sustainable and inclusive education.

·      Facilitating workshops and seminars on the ethical and effective use of GenAI in educational settings.

We are actively seeking collaboration with institutions, research groups, and organisations interested in advancing teacher education through the integration of GenAI, digital competence, and sustainability principles. Together, we can develop innovative approaches to preparing educators for the evolving demands of 21st-century classrooms.
