About

Professor Lucas is an integrated researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Agriculture, Environment and Development (MED) . She also serves as a visiting professor at the University of Warsaw.

Her research interests encompass marketing, agricultural management, consumer behavior, competitiveness, food safety, organic agriculture, quality and certification, and products with Protected Designation of Origin (DOP), Protected Geographical Indication (IGP), and Controlled Denomination of Origin (DOC) .

Professor Lucas coordinates several academic programs, including the Master’s in Applied Economics and Management, the Master’s in Quality Management and Agro-Food Marketing (in partnership with the University of Algarve), and the Doctorate in Agribusiness and Sustainability (in collaboration with the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro) .

She has participated in and led various national and international projects, such as the PSAA – Sustainability Program for Alentejo Olive Oil, aimed at enhancing the economic, environmental, and social performance of the olive oil sector in the Alentejo region .
