About
CCMIJU conducts preclinical research under two different models:
-
The institution acts as a Contract Research Organization (CRO) focused on “in vivo” preclinical services, for the pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotechnology industries, either via cooperation or under contract.
-
The different research teams working in the CCMIJU’s areas participate in competitive calls at different levels. All these projects have a common denominator, which is an eminently translational perspective, to bring the tested therapy as close as possible to the clinical setting, conducting the research under stringent ethical and quality assurance guidelines.
CCMIJU follows specific standards to work with safe and effective preclinical trials. Among others, the institution is certified for:
-
The "Design of Applied Research Projects and for Theoretical and Practical Training in Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques" by AENOR quality assurance.
-
Conducting studies of in vivo toxicity, tolerance and pharmacodynamics of new molecules, dosing of test substances and non-clinical specimen drawing, and biocompatibility studies of medical devices, both in human and veterinary medicine under GLP Compliance.
-
Design, production and characterization of bio- and nanomaterials, body tissues, medical devices and systems, from a physico-chemical, functional, toxicological and biological perspective.
