O11 biomedical GmbH

At O11 biomedical we aim to improve the lives of millions of patients suffering from the progressive lung disease COPD.  Existing drugs can delay the occurance of chronic hypercapnia, but as soon as it occurs, 6 h/day high-pressure ventilation is often the only solution. At O11, we found a better way: our first in class oral drug targets fypercapnia by elimination of excess CO2 via the gut!  

O11 is a spin-off from the RWTH Aachen University Hospital. IP (already 3 pantents granted in full ownership) and technical knowhow is firmly anchored in the company. Today, O11 has achieved product design freeze. An in-house GMP-compliant and highly scalable manufacturing process has been established and the preclinical development has been completed.

With manufacturing authorization expected autumn 2026, O11 will submit the application for the Phase I clinical trial end of 26, execution scheduled in 2027.
