Maxmodal is building an intelligent digital ecosystem for multimodal container transportation — connecting cargo owners, freight forwarders, carriers, terminals and other transport providers across international trade corridors.
Maxmodal is a Hong Kong technology company and a participant in the Cyberport Incubation Programme.
Global container logistics remains highly fragmented. Freight rates for sea, rail, road and terminal operations are distributed across thousands of companies, systems, spreadsheets and communication channels. Creating an end-to-end multimodal service can still require days or even weeks of communication and coordination between multiple providers.
Maxmodal transforms these fragmented rates and services into interconnected digital building blocks. Transport providers can digitalise their rates and services and combine them into complete end-to-end multimodal transportation solutions that can be created, managed, optimised and immediately sold through the digital ecosystem.
Our technology is now evolving towards AI-powered multimodal logistics management, including automated route generation, automatic multimodal service construction and optimisation, intelligent pricing and AI agents for logistics management.
The Silk Road — our key development focus
The Silk Road is a key focus of Maxmodal’s development — one of the world’s most fragmented logistics environments, with multiple corridors, dozens of routes, thousands of providers and tens of thousands of freight rates across an economic space of 30+ countries representing over 60% of global GDP.
Today, carriers, freight forwarders and cargo owners are already using Maxmodal to build an ecosystem of interconnected multimodal services across the Silk Road, particularly in Central Asia, Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area — connecting transport providers and their rates with real cargo demand.
Maxmodal Silk Road Index
Using Maxmodal technology, we have also launched the Maxmodal Silk Road Index (MSRI) — the world’s first multimodal container freight index, currently covering 27 Eurasian routes. By combining multimodal freight data across rail, sea, road and terminals, MSRI creates a foundation for greater market transparency, predictive analytics and future supply-chain risk management solutions.
Building the digital Silk Road together
We are open to new relationships with investors, cargo owners, shipping lines, rail operators, freight forwarders, trucking companies, terminals, technology companies, innovation partners and financial institutions across the Silk Road.
Together, we believe Maxmodal can help transform the Silk Road from a fragmented symbol of the past into a connected digital backbone of the future.
Our vision
We believe the next major transformation of container logistics will come from connecting fragmented physical and digital assets into a distributed intelligent multimodal operating system that orchestrates both cargo and data flows to ensure seamless transport and digital operations — unlocking the biggest cost reduction since the container revolution.
