Kazakhmys Smelting is a key subsidiary of Kazakhmys Group, one of Central Asia’s largest copper producers. The company is the sole operator of copper smelting plants in Kazakhstan and plays a critical role in Kazakhmys Group’s integrated copper production chain. With an annual output of approximately 350,000 tonnes of copper cathode, Kazakhmys Smelting also produces ~1 mln tonne of sulphuric acid as as a by-product.
Temirlan Mukhanbetzhanov is a Commercial Director of Kazkahmys Smelting, a key subsidiary of Kazakhmys Group, one of Central Asia’s largest copper producers. The company operates two copper smelting plants in Kazakhstan and the supporting infrastructure. Prior to Kazakhmys Smelting, Mr. Mukhanbetzhanov held various management roles within Astana International Financial Centre for over 9 years. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy CEO of the National Investment Corporation of the Central Bank of Kazakhstan and Advisor to the CEO of SWF Samruk-Kazyna. Mr. Mukhanbetzhanov is a graduate of KIMEP University and University of Edinburgh and also a CFA charterholder.
