Mr. William Wang brings extensive experience in managing business development between Canada and Asia, particularly in the Greater China Region. From 2007 to 2021, he directed the Government of Saskatchewan’s economic and governmental relations with Greater China. More recently, as the Government of Alberta’s Chief Representative in China, he managed the Government of Alberta’s offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou from 2022 until November 2024.
William currently serves as CEO of the Indigenous International Trading Group of Canada Ltd. (IITGC), a company specializing in government and corporation procurement, as well as international trade. IITGC has developed a robust client portfolio, including the Saskatchewan Research Council, the Department of National Defence, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Farm Credit Canada (FCC), Elections Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), the City of Saskatoon, the City of Delta, and the Government of Alberta. William also is Chairman of CanPlus International Inc. and the President of the Chinese Entrepreneurs Association of Saskatchewan.
With over 30 years in business development and international business, William has led and supported numerous high-impact projects between Canada and China. He has facilitated multibillion-dollar investments and numerous trade agreements.
Throughout his career, William has worked with many international companies and government agencies in both Canada and China, including Sinopec, the Saskatchewan Department of Industry and Resources, the City of Regina, the Saskatchewan Executive Council, the Saskatchewan Ministry of the Economy, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Trade and Export Development, and the Government of Alberta’s Executive Council.
William holds an MBA and a Master of Science degree from the University of Regina, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from Tianjin University of Commerce in China. He also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
William's contributions have been widely recognized through several prestigious awards. In 2020, he received the Saskatchewan Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Public Service. In 2022, he was honored with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for his significant contributions to the community. The following year, in 2023, the Canadian House of Commons acknowledged his exceptional achievements. Most recently, in 2025, William was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
