My name is Sung A Moon and I am a director of the Investment Promotion Division in Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone(BJFEZ) Authority in Korea(www.bjfez.go.kr).

My organisation

With the aim of "The global hub for international business & logistics," the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone(BJFEZ) is making significant strides towards becoming a central player in Northeast Asia. This ambitious endeavor involves the development of port logistics complexes, high-tech industrial parks, a new international business city, foreign educational and medical institutions, as well as tourism and leisure complexes. This strength and competitiveness can be defined as the Tri-port. The Tri-port refers to the three logistics infrastructure― the seaport(Busan New Port & Jinhae New Port), airport(Gimhae international airport & Gadeok international airport), and railway. Busan New Port is located in the New Port Area, which is the heart of BJFEZ. It is the world’s seventh-largest port in container volume handling about 23 million TEUs and the second-largest in transshipment. Gadeok international airport will be 24-hour operational + southern region gateway airport focused on a 3,500m runway, passengers and logistics. The BJFEZ spans parts of Busan, Jinhae in Changwon, Gyeongnam Province covering a total area of 50㎢. It stands as Korea's premier logistics hub, boasting seamless infrastructure that encompasses Busan New Port and Jinhae New Port(29 berths in operation and 60 berths by 2040), Gimhae International Airport, and Gadeok International Airport scheduled to open in 2029. Additionally, the Zone features cargo railway networks and well-connected expressways. The Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone (BJFEZ), strategically located at the heart of Northeast Asia, is a future-oriented business hub that offers multinational companies a unique platform to succeed in Korea. BJFEZ is supported by world-class tri-port infrastructure, comprising Korea’s largest container port, a major international airport and an integrated rail network. BJFEZ also provides extensive investment incentives, including tax exemptions, reduced land lease rates and customs benefits. In addition, BJFEZ features well-planned industrial clusters focused on high-value sectors such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, research, tourism and education. Thus, BJFEZ is not only a gateway to the Korean market but also a strategic global base for long-term growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
