About

Since 2015, co.brick has been the home of the team that built hybris, the commerce platform acquired by SAP, renamed SAP Hybris and today operated by SAP as SAP Commerce Cloud. More than 1,200 companies run their digital business on it, among them brands such as Samsung, Hilti, Nespresso, Swarovski and Dr. Martens. Our founder and CEO Rafał Bałaga co-created that platform and later ran SAP Labs Poland. Our co-founders Carsten Thoma, Dirk Ahlrichs, Andreas Bucksteeg and Christian Flaccus spent two decades building and scaling it for the largest enterprises in the world. We know what it takes to build software that the biggest companies trust with their revenue, because we have done it once already. For over a decade, from Gliwice in the industrial heart of Poland, we have been building and scaling platforms for ambitious companies. Now we are bringing that experience to the factory floor.

What we do now

We build digital workers for production and maintenance. We try to describe them modestly, because in our view this is simply what such workers should look like. They read everything, forget nothing, cite their sources and never act on a machine without a human saying yes. There are three of them.
co.brick assist, the knowledge engineer. It audits your documentation around the clock across Confluence, Jira, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Outline and PDFs, finds gaps, contradictions and outdated articles, and answers every question with its sources. It writes and maintains the operational knowledge base: conflicting manuals end in one verified statement with its sources, not just a report. PII detection, anonymisation and a dynamic glossary are built in.
co.brick observe, the machine watcher. It monitors sensors, meters and machines, detects threshold breaches, long-term drift and sensor degradation, and lets operators ask about the plant in natural language through the CoCo assistant. Every asset has one page: documentation, live state, incident history and procedures on one screen. Alarms arrive with their history and the fix that worked last time.
co.brick resolve, the L2/L3 service desk partner. When a ticket opens, the operator sees the customer and device history, similar incidents, the relevant documentation, machine telemetry from the moment of the fault and a ready-to-approve reply in the customer’s language. Every resolved ticket teaches the platform, so the next one is faster.
Together they form a knowledge base that learns rather than searches. Every closed ticket, resolved alarm and new manual becomes part of your plant’s memory, automatically, and reviewed by your people. Ask the same question ten ways and get the same sourced answer. AI proposes what to remember; your engineers approve it. The human decides.

How it fits into your plant

The platform works with the systems you already have: ERP, MES, SCADA, CMMS, CRM, historians and ticketing tools. It reads from the OT network through the DMZ and writes nothing to control systems. It deploys in your private cloud, hybrid or SaaS, with EU data residency and no training on your data. The knowledge base lives with you, in an open format, exportable at any time. No lock-in.

Why we do it

We believe the companies that will lead modern industry in the AI era are the ones whose knowledge stops living in a few heads and starts living in a system their people trust. We would like these three digital workers to become the standard others are measured against, and we would like to build that standard together with the plants and machine builders who are ready to go first.

What we are looking for

Manufacturing plants and machine builders ready for a measured pilot on one line; OT/IT integrators and MES, SCADA and CMMS vendors as partners; consortium partners for Horizon Europe projects in industrial AI, data sovereignty and secure OT/IT integration.
