Edouard Lhomme

Edouard Lhomme (MD, PhD) is a public health medical doctor specialised clinical epidemiology, infectious diseases and vaccine study design, currently acting as Associate Professor at Bordeaux University and Bordeaux University Hospital.

He is methodologist within the Bordeaux University Hospital’s Clinical Trial Unit, teacher at Public Health and Epidemiology at the School of Medecine and at the Bordeaux School of Public Health (Isped), and co-head of EUCLID (EUropean CLInical Trials Platform & Development), an academic F-CRIN-labelled facility aiming to support the sponsor/investigator duo in implementing international clinical trials.
His research within Inserm’s Bordeaux Population Health Centre’s (U-1219) Statistics in systems biology and translational medicine – SISTM Team - focuses on methodological research at the interface of clinical epidemiology and biostatistics to optimize methods and design used in the clinical development of vaccines.

During the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), he was acting as medical scientific advisor for the French Ministry of Health in the research part of the Crisis Unit managing the COVID-19 epidemic. He particularly monitored the clinical development of treatments and vaccines.
Since 2021, he coordinates with Prof Karine Lacombe the joint action "Respiratory Viroses" of ANRS-MIE.
