My organisation
Gene4All is a nonprofit association committed to supporting genome editing research and training across Africa. We work with local scientists and institutions to co-create accessible educational materials, combining hands-on courses, digital tools, and low-cost reagent kits. By building partnerships between African and international research communities, Gene4All helps foster scientific leadership, expand local bio-innovation ecosystems, and create lasting impact in health and agriculture.
About me
I am a molecular geneticist, senior lecturer, and Principal Investigator at the University of Ghana. My research focuses on understanding genetic traits and diseases in Africans, with a particular interest in breast cancer genetics, prostate cancer epigenetics, and multiple myeloma cytogenetics in Blacks.
After completing my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Ghana, I trained at the University of Iowa, USA, working on projects in autism, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, and cancer genetics.
In addition to training and mentoring students, I serve as the Innovation Director of Gene4All and the Deputy Director for Research and Entrepreneurship at the West African Genetic Medicine Centre (WAGMC). I am also the founder of the Nufu Festival, an annual breast cancer awareness campaign that provides free screenings and self-examination training to help reduce mortality rates in Ghana.
