10th Year Anniversary of the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme

As part of the registration process, you will be asked to indicate whether you require a Visa Invitation Letter.

If applicable, upon confirmation that you require this document, you will be required to complete the relevant fields, such as:

• your nationality

• your date of birth

• your passport number

• issue date of your passport

• expiry date of your passport

• place of issue of your passport

To support you in obtaining your visa invitation letter, EACEA — via its contractor Spectra — will assist you throughout the process. The Spectra team will provide you with the following:

• The official Visa Invitation Letter, signed by the European Commission and addressed to the relevant embassy or consulate

• Accommodation confirmation Letter: an official accommodation confirmation issued by the hotel, confirming your stay for the duration of the event

Official Visa Information

Applicants are encouraged to rely solely on the official website of the Belgian authorities for all visa‑related information and refrain from using third‑party services (such as VisaHQ).

Medical Insurance Requirement 

Please be advised that visa applications typically require valid medical insurance with coverage of at least EUR 30,000. Applicants are encouraged to verify that their insurance complies with this requirement.

• Benin: The Embassy in Cotonou does not process visa applications. Applicants in Benin must contact  The Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast  

• Botswana: The Embassy of Belgium in Botswana  

• Burkina Faso: The Embassy of Belgium in Burkina Faso   

• Burundi: The Embassy of Belgium in Burundi  

• Cabo Verde: For official visas or consular services, applicants need to contact the Belgium consulate in Dakar The Embassy of Belgium in Dakar 

• Cameroon: The Embassy of Belgium in Cameroon

• Central African Republic: The Embassy of Belgium in Cameroon is responsible for the Central African Republic. 

• Chad: For visa services (long or short stay), the Belgian Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, is typically the competent embassy. The Embassy of Belgium in Burkina Faso  

• Comoros: There is no resident Belgian embassy or consulate in the Comoros. Short-stay visa applications should be submitted to the to Embassy of France in the Comoros, which represents Belgium for Schengen visas in Comoros. 

• Democratic Republic of the Congo: The Embassy of Belgium in the Democratic Republic of Congo  

• Djibouti: Short-stay visa applications should be submitted to the: Embassy of Belgium in Addid Ababa, Ethiopia   

• Egypt: The Embassy of Belgium in Egypt  

• Equatorial Guinea: There is no resident Belgian embassy or consulate in Equatorial Guinea. Diplomatic services for Equatorial Guinea are handled by The Embassy of Belgium in Cameroon   

• Eritrea: There is no resident Belgian embassy or consulate in Eritrea. Short-stay visa applications should be submitted to The Embassy of Belgium in Kenya 

• Eswatini (Swaziland) There is no dedicated Belgian embassy in Eswatini. Consular affairs and visa services are handled by the  Consulate General of Belgium in Pretoria 

• Ethiopia: Embassy of Belgium in Addid Ababa, Ethiopia   

• Gabon: There is no resident Belgian embassy in Gabon. Consular affairs are handled by The Embassy of Belgium in Cameroon 

• Gambia: To apply for a Belgian visa in The Gambia, you typically need to submit a Schengen visa application through  The Embassy of Belgium in Dakar 

• Ghana: Visa applications are processed through the Swiss Consulate in Ghana 

• Guinea: To apply for a Belgium visa in Guinea, applicants typically submit a Schengen visa application through The Embassy of Belgium in Dakar.  

• Guinea-Bissau: To apply for a Belgium visa in Guinea-Bissau, applicants typically submit a Schengen visa application through the Belgian Embassy in Dakar, Senegal. 

• Ivory Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) The Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast  

• Kenya: The Embassy of Belgium in Kenya  

• Lesotho: There are no Belgian embassies or consulates in Lesotho. Residents needing Belgian consular services typically contact the Consulate General of Belgium in Pretoria 

• Liberia: The Honorary Consulate does not issue visas. Visa applications must be processed through The Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast  

• Libya: There is currently no operational Belgian embassy in Tripoli, Libya, as it is temporarily closed. Belgian diplomatic services for Libya are typically handled by The Embassy of Belgium in Tunis

• Madagascar: Malagasy citizens applying for a Belgian visa typically submit their application via The Embassy of Belgium in Kenya 

• Malawi: The Embassy of Belgium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, handles visa applications and consular services for residents of Malawi. 

• Mali: Visa applications are handled by The Embassy of Belgium in Burkina Faso   

• Mauritania: To apply for a Belgian visa in Mauritania, applicants typically submit a Schengen visa application through The Embassy of Belgium in Dakar 

• Mauritius: The Embassy of Belgium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, handles visa applications and consular services for residents of Mauritius. 

• Morocco: Visa services are handled through The Embassy of Belgium in Morocco 

• Mozambique: Short-stay visas are handled by the Embassy of Belgium in South Africa.  

• Namibia: Short-stay visas are handled by the Embassy of Belgium in South Africa. 

• Nigeria:  The Embassy of Belgium in Abuja  

• Rwanda: Visa services are handled through The Embassy of Belgium in Kenya 

• São Tomé and Príncipe: The Embassy of Belgium in Angola, holds jurisdiction over São Tomé and Príncipe. 

• Senegal: The Embassy of Belgium in Dakar  

• Seychelles: Visa services are handled through The Embassy of Belgium in Kenya  

• Sierra Leone: Visa applications are processed through The Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast

• Tanzania: The Embassy of Belgium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania handles visa applications and consular services.  

• Togo: : Visa applications are processed through The Embassy of Belgium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast
