Live Stage with Streaming Provider

How to set up your live stage in the b2match system via embed code

1. Choose the streaming provider you will use

There is a large variety of streaming providers on the market. b2match has been tested and has been involved in organizing events with the providers below.

  • Vimeo
Vimeo live stream is available with a Premium Vimeo account, in which you need to create a live event, set it to private (if you want to test it in advance), configure how the widget will look like on the b2match website and decide whether the stream will be received through RTMP or camera.

2. Create a virtual live stage in the b2match organizer tool

Imagine stepping into a large virtual conference hall and looking for the right stage to see the presentations you're interested in. Labeling the stages will really help differentiate them, hence the need to create a new location in the system. Go to Agenda - Location and click on Add Location.

Tick This location is a virtual live stage and Embed code.

Add your stream URL from the streaming platform you are using in the Video Embed Code field (see Setting up a live stage in your streaming provider part of this article).

3. Assign the sessions which should be broadcasted to the live stage location

You've created your stage, now you need to define the schedule for it. Create the sessions in Agenda (if you haven't created them already), assign the Live Stage location for it, and check Live Stage in Settings.

1 - go to Agenda and pick the session from the agenda which will become your live stream session and click on Edit. If you don't have a session yet, create a regular session.

Pick the location you've set for your live stage in the session info - Location.

Assigning the location to one of the agenda sessions will create the live stage page on the event navigation.

1 - this is the page automatically created when you assign a location to an agenda session; however, this is only visible if you contact us and let us know that you want to have a live stage dedicated page. Otherwise the participants will access this page through the link in their agendas.
2 - this is the location you've set in the first step.

In case there are parallel sessions, the participants are able to switch the session they want to view by selecting it from the dropdown menu on the Live stage page on the website.

4. Test it and check how participants will see it

The organizer can decide on one of the options below.

  1.  only registered and validated participants are able to view the live stage page and take part in it. Therefore as soon as the participant is registered, validated, has chosen the live stage sessions to be part of their agenda, the Live stage page will be displayed at the top of the menu. This is the default setting.

2. the Live stage page and its content is public, therefore no registration to the event is needed.

Let us know if this is the way you're planning your live stage.

The participants will be able to join the Live Stage by clicking on Join Online Session in their agenda for that session.

The chat function

Engage your audience with the Q&A chat, which you as organizer are able to moderate.
Organizers are also able to participate in the chat and can also delete participant messages.

Participants need to click on Join discussion in order to participate in the chat.

We can integrate Slido for Q&As and polls (subject to additional charges).
