We are excited to welcome Matthias Schieker, Prof. Dr. med. as a speaker at the Zurich Life Science Day 2026!

Matthias Schieker is Vice President and Senior Distinguished Fellow in Translational Medicine at Novartis Biomedical Research in Basel and a lecturer at ETH Zurich (D-HEST). He is a board-certified surgeon, emergency physician, osteologist, and former tenured Professor of Regenerative Medicine at the University of Munich (LMU). Throughout his career, he has led teams that successfully transitioned multiple compounds from preclinical stages into the clinic, founded research centers, mentored numerous MD and PhD students, and contributed to over 140 publications and more than 10 patents.

His talk about “Drug Development: Biotech, Pharma and Academic Perspectives” will provide a unique view into how innovative therapies move from early research to clinical application across different sectors.
