‌Shanghai General Hospital‌, founded in 1864, stands as one of China's earliest century-old comprehensive medical institutions. In 2002, it became affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University as ‌Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated Shanghai General Hospital‌, and in 2022, it was further designated as ‌Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Affiliated Shanghai General Hospital‌. The hospital operates across two campuses in Hongkou (North) and Songjiang (South), covering approximately ‌**453.8 mu (302,533 m²)**‌. The Phase II expansion project of the Songjiang campus (160,000 m²) is progressing systematically, preliminarily achieving its "scenic campus development vision" — landscaping in the northern sector and forested areas in the south.
