About me

I am Director of Enterprise & Innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire and Humber and am interested in supporting the delivery of high-quality research and innovation in the United Kingdom that improves patient outcomes and drives health system efficiencies. I have been a National Institute of Health Research i4i reviewer, am a Board member for the NHS Innovation Accelerator and at the Olympic Legacy Park, I am vice Chair of the NHSE funded Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Cancer Program, was Chair of the National Pathology Imaging Collaborative steering group and was recently invited join the advisory council for the Nova Scotia based Health Innovation Hub. I created the Propel@YH accelerator program, now in its 6th year, which supports both UK based and international business succeed in the UK market. This program is now underpinned by £4.5 million investment from our local authority.

I also have an interest in supporting international export activity, promoting opportunities for UK-based innovators in other markets. I have also worked as an academic researcher, a drug trial manager, a consultant and as a director for a health tech start-up.

I completed my doctorate in Molecular Embryology from Kings College London, before working at the Institute of Cancer Research in London and then the Institute of Molecular Biosciences in Queensland, Australia before returning to the UK and developing a career focussed on supporting innovation across the breadth of Health and Life Sciences industry.
