Nirdesh Gupta

In my current role, I head the operations of Cedars-Sinai Technology Ventures, Cedars-Sinai Healthcare Accelerator, Business Units and Commercial Enterprises. In this role, I lead a team of equity and IP portfolio management, business development, licensing & operations professionals responsible for engaging with startups, investors, inventors, clinicians, industry and other strategic stakeholders involved in development of new ventures and commercialization of the intellectual property arising from more than $200 million in research conducted at Cedars-Sinai. My team manages an equity portfolio representing about 20 companies, commercial enterprises, business units and an IP portfolio of more than 500 technologies covered under 1200+ patents worldwide. I lead development and execution of strategies for new ventures, equity investments, IP, commercialization & exit strategies for the equity and IP portfolio.

Prior to joining the Technology Transfer Office, I served as Director of Research and Development at California State University, Los Angeles, where I was responsible for overall management of the research, research compliance and headed the technology transfer practice. I have more than fifteen years of experience in handling all aspects of technology and venture developments in healthcare setting.
