Tenuta Gaggino was founded in 1924 by the Gaggino family and is located in Ovada, Alessandria province, Piedmont, in the Monferrato area.
Tommaso, in 1920, lays the foundation for what will be a long tradition in viticulture, handed down from father to son.
In 2006 Gabriele Gaggino bought a plot of land for approx. 30 hectares in the commune of Carpeneto, willing to enlarge the production of grapes and wines. The vineyards are planted with Dolcetto di Ovada grapes, Barbera del Monferrato and Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato with annexed farm.
He starts to produce and vinify larger quantity of native grapes, doing a careful selection in the vineyards of the best bunches for the making of an outstanding wine: “Convivio” Ovada Docg which won the TRE BICCHIERI award from Gambero Rosso in the vintages 2013-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021 and 2022.
