Wind Turbine Site Classification & Site-Specific Design Assessment

Head of Global Market Development at ProfEC Ventus

Oldenburg, Germany

About

Selecting a wind turbine requires more than understanding the expected energy yield. The turbine must be suitable for the site-specific wind and environmental conditions it will experience throughout its operating life.

ProfEC Ventus provides independent Site Classification of Wind Turbines within our DAkkS-accredited ISO/IEC 17025 testing scope.

The assessment can support developers, IPPs, OEMs and technical advisers in understanding site conditions relevant to turbine selection, engineering review and project development.

Our work can include assessment of site-specific wind conditions and their relationship to the applicable turbine design requirements, including relevant aspects of wind speed, turbulence and other site characteristics.

The objective is to provide project stakeholders with a technically robust basis for understanding whether the proposed turbine and site conditions are appropriately aligned.

For developers and IPPs, this supports informed turbine selection and project development decisions. For OEMs and technical advisers, it provides an independent assessment basis for reviewing site-specific conditions against applicable design requirements.

ProfEC Ventus performs Site Classification within its DAkkS-accredited scope according to applicable IEC requirements, including IEC 61400-1.

We welcome discussions with developers, OEMs, IPPs and technical advisers requiring independent site classification for projects under development, turbine selection or technical review.
