About me
Arjen Nolles has been an alderman for the municipality of Het Hogeland since May 2022, representing GroenLinks. In his current role, he is responsible for various portfolios including agriculture, nature, fisheries, circular economy, waste management, recreation and tourism, and the Reitdiep regional project. As the coordinator of the energy transition, he plays a crucial role in advancing sustainability within the municipality.
Before becoming alderman, he briefly served as a council member in Het Hogeland. He has also held several advisory and leadership roles within GroenLinks and the Northern Netherlands Cooperation, focusing on governance, financial oversight, and promoting regional collaboration. His earlier career includes work as a documentary filmmaker and a coordinator of a poetry festival, reflecting his passion for culture, literature, and the arts.
