About me
José Oliveira Paulo is a graduate Electrical Engineer, in Energy and Power Systems by IST / Lisbon Technical University, and a Specialist of EDP Distribuição, being President of Board of Directors of EnergyIN, the Competitiveness and Technology Cluster of Energy, in Portugal, since July 2017. He has a diverse career, which has been driven by innovation, business development, customer services and information systems. In the past, before joining EnergyIN in 2009 as Assistant Director, he works for CEM – Companhia de Electricidade de Macau, South East Asia, where he took several leading positions in T&D, Customer Services and Business Development Departments, namely as head of Maintenance Department and Investment Division. Also, he oversaw the Customer Relationship Management Program in CEM. As Assistant Director at Energy from 2009 to 2017, he oversaw Energy Storage, Fuel Cells & Hydrogen, Bioenergy and Smart Cities areas. He is also the representative of EnergyIN since 2014 at the European National Energy Storage Associations, from EASE. He was a member of Eurelectric NESIS, Network of Experts in Small Islands Systems, until 2009. He is an Honorary Member of AESIEAP, the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific. He has been Secretary-General of AESIEAP from 2007 to 2008. He is also a Senior Member of the Portuguese Society of Engineers.
My organisation
EnergyIN, the Competitiveness and Technology Cluster for Energy, is a non-profit cluster association established in 2008, working for the energy sector in Portugal, namely on renewable energies, energy efficiency, energy storage, fuel cells and hydrogen. Its mission is to promote the collaborative works between companies, namely small and medium size, and research institutions, in order to foster technological innovation and competitiveness. EnergyIN has an annual work programme to implement activities in line with these action programmes and priorities, including networking activities, an annual conference, information of financing programmes for collaborative projects in energy, bilateral meetings for thematic discussions and collaborative project design, and international activities (trade missions and fairs).
