Session 4: Roundtable 1 - Daisy Lawless - Writer & Producer

Good communication can make or break a production — particularly when information needs to move between different people, departments and stages of the pipeline.

For this roundtable, come prepared with an example of a communication challenge you’ve experienced, witnessed or could imagine happening during a production.

Maybe information didn’t reach the right person, feedback got lost or misunderstood, responsibilities weren’t clear, a change created problems further down the pipeline, or two parts of the team simply weren’t communicating effectively.

Bring the situation to the table and, together with Daisy and the other participants, discuss: What would you do?

The group can unpack the problem, look at where communication pathways could be improved and share different approaches to preventing or resolving similar situations.

Daisy is a producer and production specialist with a passion for 2D animated series and live-action genre films. She is currently developing her original animated IP. She is also currently the Studio Manager at Mukpuddy. There, she has helped streamline the animation pipeline, creating effective channels for artists and technicians to raise concerns and resolve workflow issues.
