Feinwerkoptik Zuend AG (FWOZ) develops and manufactures customized solutions – in particular miniaturized optical, optomechanical and electro-optomechanical systems with imaging and non-imaging beam paths.

Core Competencies

1) Photonics Concept – identifying the right things to do
Feinwerkoptik Zuend AG analyses customer requirements and applications down to the smallest detail, describes workflows, considers the existing portfolio, evaluates possible technologies and highlights potential unique selling points. From these insights, the most suitable photonic concept is derived, based on light-based technologies. This approach ensures that the right technologies are identified and the most effective concept is defined.

2) Systems Design – doing the right things right
In system design, commercially available software is applied for both optical and mechanical development. These tools – in particular the optical design software Code V – are complemented by powerful, proprietary macros and empirical data. This combination provides an even deeper understanding of the developed systems and ensures designs that are both stable and reliable in production.

3) Photonic Systems – delivering quality and reliability
For more than 30 years, Feinwerkoptik Zuend AG has been manufacturing miniaturized optical components and optomechanical assemblies tailored to customer requirements. The portfolio ranges from spherical and plano-optical components to complete assemblies.

• Spherical optical components: diameters from 0.45 to approx. 10.0 millimetres.

• Plano-optical components: sizes from 0.5 to approx. 100.0 millimetres.

These elements are often further processed and integrated into assemblies such as achromats, beam splitters, lenses, filter systems, lighting modules, miniaturized camera systems, chip-in-tip solutions for surgical robots or endoscopes. Feinwerkoptik Zuend AG works with all optical glasses, quartz materials and ceramics, always with a focus on precision, quality and long-term reliability.
