ASciNA - Austrian Scientists and Scholars in North America

ASciNA’s work is anchored in its 17 local chapters across North America and its active alumni chapters throughout Europe. Together, they provide professional and personal networks—and, for many members, a “home away from home.”

Our principal organization-wide initiatives include the annual ASciNA Awards, which recognize outstanding Principal Investigators and Young Scientists, as well as a separate award honoring excellence in technological innovation. The ASciNA Mentoring Program connects early-career members with accomplished scientists and scholars in their respective fields.

Established in 2002, ASciNA brings together scientists and scholars from a broad range of disciplines—from economics and the arts to physics, marine biology, and the life sciences. We help newly arrived researchers navigate their new environment, provide information, career-development support, and networking opportunities, organize events, and represent the interests of Austrian scientists and scholars.

ASciNA also maintains close partnerships with Austrian federal ministries, universities, research-funding agencies, and other institutions across the Austrian science and research ecosystem.
