We are People in Peril Slovakia, also known as Človek v ohrození, n. o. Our organization is dedicated to providing humanitarian aid and support to those in need, both locally and globally. Through our projects and programs, we strive to make a positive impact on vulnerable communities and advocate for human rights. Since the beginning of the armed conflict in Ukraine, the organization has been providing assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia, as well as internally displaced people in Ukraine. For two years now, we have been offering psycho-social support to individuals fleeing the war in Ukraine, regardless of their age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Our goal is their effective integration into society, promoting well-being, and fostering connections between these individuals and the majority, while also raising awareness within the majority community. The organization's scope also encompasses the support of marginalized communities afflicted by poverty. PiP cadre of community and social workers engage with children, teenagers, and adults, providing education, vocational counseling, fostering financial literacy, digital proficiency, and assisting beneficiaries in constructing decent living arrangements. Furthermore, the organization advocates for requisite changes in public policies to bolster these objectives. Through its educational endeavors, we contribute to the cultivation of a more inclusive, tolerant, and open society within Slovakia. The cornerstone of our operations could be classified into three pivotal domains: Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, Social Inclusion, and Global Education.
