About me
Prof. Dr. Güzin Ulutaş is a faculty member at the Department of Computer Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), Turkey. She received her B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from KTU in 2002 and completed her Ph.D. in 2017 at the same institution. Between 2004 and 2009, she worked as a research assistant at Ondokuz Mayıs University. She was appointed as an Assistant Professor in 2012, became an Associate Professor in 2018, and was promoted to Full Professor in 2024.
Her research focuses on cybersecurity, multimedia forensics, network security, deepfake detection, steganography, watermarking, and privacy-preserving artificial intelligence. Since 2012, she has conducted extensive work in digital forensics, particularly in the detection of manipulated images, audio, and videos.
Prof. Ulutaş has led several TÜBİTAK-funded projects and is actively involved in European research collaborations, including the BEING-WISE (CA22104) COST Action, where she serves as a Management Committee member and leads a working group focused on federated learning and IoT security. She also supervises numerous MSc and Ph.D. students working in the fields of intrusion detection systems (IDS), federated learning security, and explainable AI.
She currently serves as the Chair of the Cybersecurity Branch in her department and is a member of the TÜBİTAK Advisory Committee.
